Volkswagen Description

Volkswagen (VW commonly abbreviated) is an automotive manufacturer based in Wolfsburg, Lower Saxony, Germany. Volkswagen was founded by the German Trade Union (Deutsche Arbeitsfront) in 1937.

Volkswagen is the original brand of the Volkswagen Group, which also oversees several other car brands like Audi, Bentley Motors, Bugatti Automobiles, Automobili Lamborghini, SEAT, Skoda and a commercial vehicle manufacturer Scania. In 2009, the Supervisory Board of Volkswagen AG otomtif authorize the establishment of an integrated group with Porsche under Volkswagen.

Volkswagen itself has a name meaning “people’s car”. Volkswagen’s current tagline is Das Auto (in English “The Car”). Previous Moto Aus Liebe zum Automobil is (meaning: love of the car).
