Acura will soon launch the latest compact sedan as a 2013 model, Acura ILX. Premiering this month at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show. Will be available in standard and hybrid versions. Because this blog discusses about hybrid car, we discussed it only for a hybrid version. 2013 Acura ILX is the first ever hybrid car from Acura. Scheduled to go on sale this spring.
ILX promises that the car is fully capable of combining performance, luxury and efficiency with affordability while at the same time not forgetting about the environment. Will be armed with a 1.5L four-cylinder engine and an Integrated Motor Assist electric motor. The 20-horsepower electric motor gets its power from a lithium-ion battery pack and is mainly there to provide additional power when its needed. The hybrid system has a total output 111 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 127 lb-ft of torque between 1,000-3,000 rpm. During braking and at a stop the gasoline engine deactivates to save fuel and reduce emissions. Acura estimates that the ILX Hybrid will have a fuel economy rating of 35/38 mpg. At 38 mpg on the highway, the ILX beats the 2012 Lexus HS 250h, which is only rated at 34 mpg.
The standard features a MacPherson strut front suspension while at the back it adopts a multi-link configuration. Keyless Access System with smart entry and pushbutton start, Pandora internet radio interface and an SMS text message function. The Technology Package adds a surround sound audio system, and a navigation system with real-time traffic rerouting. The Premium Package adds leather seats, heated front seats, a rear view camera and a 360-watt audio system. The car also comes with four-channel anti-lock brakes, VSA – Vehicle Stability Assist and Motion Adaptive Electric Power Steering.
2013 Acura ILX Hybrid prices range from $ 30,000. Of course would have included tax.
